MEDITECH Billing Services
For a physician practice using MEDITECH, outside billing support starts with a practical question: which claims does the practice own? Synergy reviews the ambulatory workflow and authorized access before proposing work on claims, posting or follow-up.
Identify the ambulatory and billing arrangement
MEDITECH offers Expanse Ambulatory and broader revenue cycle products. A practice may use an ambulatory record while its host controls billing or may retain responsibility for professional claims. We confirm the installed products and ownership rather than infer a workflow from the MEDITECH name.
The initial conversation identifies the legal billing entity, claim types and where the work list resides. That keeps a physician billing request separate from a hospital's facility accounts.
Trace encounters to the responsible billing team
We ask how completed encounters, charge corrections and supporting documentation reach billing. If the host generates charges or releases claims, that responsibility must stay clear when outside help is considered.
The proposed handoff identifies which issues the practice can resolve itself and which require the host administrator or clinician. No billing team should change a clinical record merely to move a claim out of a queue.
Scope payment and follow-up work precisely
A payer follow-up assignment needs more than a balance list. We review available submission history, remittances, prior notes and any deadline information, then agree which accounts can be worked with the access provided.
Payment posting and adjustment rights may differ from inquiry access. We confirm whether Synergy would post, prepare exceptions for your staff or follow assigned unpaid claims, and how the practice will see the remaining work.
Host approval is specific to the engagement
Before accepting work, we confirm third-party access rules, individual roles, training, security requirements and a business associate agreement. An ambulatory account does not imply permission to access all hospital revenue cycle functions.
This is an independent billing support assessment, not a MEDITECH partnership or certification claim. If the work requires facility expertise, a new interface or access the host will not provide, that dependency is identified before a start date is agreed.
What to discuss first
- MEDITECH product and version, plus any separate billing system.
- Physician billing versus facility responsibility.
- Host contact and permitted external-user roles.
- Current claim, remittance or follow-up problem and desired scope.
Common questions
Does this offer cover a hospital's entire MEDITECH revenue cycle?
No. The page addresses a practice-level assessment. Facility or system-wide work needs a separate capability, access and scope review.
Can Synergy help if our staff retain payment posting?
A defined follow-up scope can be discussed. We first check that claim history, remittances and account notes are available for the assigned work.
