Pain Management Medical Billing Services

Pain management practices need billing work that stays connected to the service documented, the treatment setting and the payer's requirements. Synergy assesses claim and follow-up support without treating authorization or a corrected submission as a payment guarantee.

Keep the professional claim tied to the procedure record

We ask how office and facility-based procedures reach charge review and which entity bills the professional service. The handoff should identify missing records, incomplete procedure details and questions that require a clinician's response.

Site, service details and related billed work are reviewed against the applicable requirements. The team preserves the reason for a coding correction instead of changing a claim solely to get past an edit.

Separate authorization questions from claim processing

A denial mentioning authorization may need investigation of the requested service, approved dates, provider, location or the payer's actual response. We identify the evidence available and who is responsible for obtaining missing information.

Prior authorization and referral coordination are separately scoped practice-support services. A billing engagement does not automatically include pursuing every approval, and an authorization does not by itself establish payment.

Scope additional service lines explicitly

Some practices also have drug administration, testing or other services. Those workflows need their own review of billing ownership, documentation and staff capability rather than being silently folded into a procedure-billing quote.

For unpaid claims, we review prior submissions, denial reasons and available deadline information. The resulting report distinguishes work completed, items awaiting the practice and payer decisions still pending.

What to discuss first

  • Office and facility settings, plus professional claim ownership.
  • Procedure-documentation handoff and current payer requests.
  • Who owns authorization and referral work.
  • Any drug, testing or other additional billing workflow.

Common questions

Does a prior authorization guarantee that a claim will pay?

No. The claim must still meet the applicable coverage, documentation, eligibility and billing requirements.

Are prior authorizations included automatically?

No. Authorization and referral coordination are separately priced and must be included in the agreed scope if requested.
