Practice Fusion Billing Services

Follow the handoff from your Practice Fusion clinical record to the system that submits claims and records payments.

Practice Fusion offers EHR and billing options, and practices can have different arrangements for their financial workflow. Start by identifying the billing software and any existing billing service. Synergy can discuss support once the charge handoff, account access and ownership of the work are clear.

Discuss your Practice Fusion billing

Identify where billing actually happens

The EHR name alone does not tell us where your claims, remittances and accounts receivable are managed. Confirm whether you use Practice Fusion's billing offering or another arrangement, which software holds the ledger, and who currently works it.

Verify any integration and permissions for your actual setup. An older list of integration partners is not a guarantee that a connection is available or configured for your practice today.

Reconcile the charge handoff

For a defined date range, compare completed visits and the charges or superbills prepared with the records received by the billing system. A clinical entry is not proof that a claim was created, transmitted or accepted.

Document missing items, rejected transfers and duplicate records before correcting the workflow. Give each exception an owner and verify the result in the receiving system. See superbill and charge entry support.

Track the claim through the billing system

Once a claim exists, distinguish clearinghouse or payer rejection from an adjudicated denial or an accepted claim awaiting payment. Review the response and prior actions before deciding on correction, follow-up or appeal.

Payments, adjustments and patient balances should be reconciled where the financial records are maintained. Our A/R follow-up and payment posting services cover the work we can discuss.

Make a billing handover traceable

If you are changing billing support, establish a cutoff date and ownership of existing claims, incoming remittances, patient questions and new charges. Confirm access to the records needed to complete that work before changing the arrangement.

Agree how old balances will be reconciled and how progress will be reported. Use the billing-company transition guide and service options to prepare for the conversation.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Does Practice Fusion tell you which billing software we use?

No. We need the name of the billing system and any billing service as well as the EHR. Practice Fusion offers billing options, and your arrangement determines where claims, remittances and account balances are maintained.

Can we keep Practice Fusion while discussing billing help?

Yes. The starting point is to review your current setup and desired scope. We confirm whether suitable access and workflows are available before agreeing the work. We do not promise a specific integration or require a software change for an initial conversation.

Why is a completed visit or superbill missing from billing?

Check whether the charge was prepared, released and received by the billing system, then look for an exception or duplicate. Compare the same period and identifiers through the handoff. A completed clinical record does not by itself prove that a payer received a claim.

Can you review A/R held in another billing system?

We can discuss that scope when authorized access and the necessary records are available. Identify which system contains the financial ledger and who owns the outstanding work. Old balances must be reconciled with payments, adjustments and prior actions before follow-up.

What if our current billing service owns the workflow?

Review the agreement, access rights and handover responsibilities before making changes. Establish how current claims, remittances and records will be handled. A transition should keep ownership clear and avoid duplicate submissions or loss of visibility.

What should we include in the first message?

Name Practice Fusion, the billing software or service you use, and the problem you want help resolving. A general description is enough initially. Do not send patient records, account screenshots or credentials through the public form or ordinary email.

Planning your next step

Describe your current system, specialty and billing concern. We will discuss the work needed, the access available and who should own each step. See our billing handover guide or browse billing resources.

Synergy is an independent billing service provider. Platform names identify the systems discussed; they do not imply vendor affiliation or certification. Product reference: Practice Fusion's current EHR and billing options · Practice Fusion billing services overview.
